Update: Congress Passes Flood Insurance Reform

Thank you to all of our SMAR members who took the time to answer our call to action on the National Flood Insurance Program (NFIP).

On September 7th, the United States Senate voted to pass a three-month extension of the NFIP. The House of Representatives just passed the legislation today and the President is expected to quickly sign later in the afternoon.

So far nationwide, we have had over 110,000 REALTORS take action- with numbers still being tabulated. This is an outstanding response to be proud of considering the short time frame we worked within and the hurricanes impacting our membership and homeowners. Together we have been able to mobilize in the face of adversity and continue to show the strength of our advocacy to work tirelessly on behalf of those affected by flooding throughout the United States.
